GENERAL: You must be a LCFBC member. The photo must be one you took yourself. I may not post every submitted photograph, particularly if there are other recent photos in the same location of the same species. However, I may bump the current photo and replace with yours so please submit any photos you would like posted, but please don't be offended if not posted. This is a small club and I would like everyone to have an opportunity to have a photo posted. I may replace an excellent photo with an acceptable one from a contributor not previously represented. This is not a photo contest site but rather a place for everyone to have the opportunity to have a photo on the web. I will lean toward a representation of all members rather than the best photos from a few contributors. There is a space limitation of the web site as this is a free site.
SEND TO: I would like the location and date included in the email sent to my email address. Sending the photo as an attachment is preferred. There is a 10 Mb limit on my email, so limit the number of unedited photos per email. Of course, I would prefer edited, resized and compressed ( 800 pixel width; 200MB size) photos. I don't want to spend all my time editing your photos as I have hundreds perhaps thousands of my own not yet edited. I will try to acknowledge receipt of photos, but not at computer all hours of every day.
EDITING: I certainly would prefer that you edit and resize to 800 pixel width and compress the file to 200 MB yourself. I have found through personal experience that photos will display very well on the web at these requirements. The web site resizes them automatically to 420 width pixels for initial display. However, I resize and upload 800 pixel width and 200 MB so that if you click on the photo the larger size will appear. I will resize and may crop some of your photos to 800 pixel width if you have not done so already. If you do not wish any cropping please so state in email, but understand that they will be reduced in size automatically by the web site and to 800 pixel width and 200 MB by me and your bird may appear very small. I do realize that some members don't know how to edit... if this is the case please say so and I will do a " one button quick fix" with my editing program, but I would like the picture to look as you wish, not as my editing program prefers. I can't spend the time to individually edit (except for the 800 pixel land 200 MB resize) as I do my own photos.
HOW MANY: I would prefer one, or two or three photos unless the series tells a story and deserves more space. Please don't send a dozen of the same bird and require me to make a choice.
PROMPT POSTING: The weeks I work I may not get photos posted very quickly. Particularly if there is a good basketball game on tv.
COPYRIGHT: You retain copyright on the photograph, but by submitting it, you implicitly give the LCFBC the permission to post on this web site and to publish in the Newsletter.
RULE OF COMMON SENSE: There are exceptions to every rule. If you have special photos or special circumstances please email me.
